role in preserving the future of agriculture for decades to come - it's important to us at CSS Farms, and
to the customers we serve. As such, we are looking to add a Sustainability Data Steward to our team
that will help tell our sustainability story - gathering input, summarizing data, and providing quality
information directly to our external stakeholders.
The Sustainability Data Steward will be a critical liaison between our internal Agronomy, Sales, and Data
teams, and help deliver high-quality results to our customers. This individual will have a passion for
customer service, mining accurate data, and using that data to derive meaningful insights and tell a
meaningful story. This role reports to our Director of Ag Innovation and Sustainability and ideally will be
based out of our Shared Services office in Kearney, Nebraska.

Key Responsibilities The primary responsibility of the Sustainability Data Steward will be to gather, analyze and approve data
for accuracy to ensure we deliver complete, comprehensive and consistent information to our
customers.
In relation to the above, this individual will:
•Collaborate extensively with internal CSS Farms teams (Agronomy, Sales, IT, farms) and external
customers regarding the data surrounding our sustainability practices
•Represent CSS Farms through frequent external customer interactions, embodying our core
values and acting with professionalism, business savvy and a customer focused mindset
•Navigate customer data requests by evaluating current state, identifying need and leading
execution of internal process to satisfy request
•Prepare a monthly review and analysis of agronomic & sustainability data captured through the
crop life cycle to ensure accuracy of data submissions
•Develop a sign off process for data input & output at farm level
•Use agronomic & farm knowledge to identify possible data errors or discrepancies
•Develop working knowledge for our customer data requirements and ensure timely submission
ahead of deadlines
•Develop working relationships with critical stakeholders at each farm (agronomists, farm
managers, operations, and admin staff)
•Interact regularly with Director of Ag Innovation & Sustainability to ensure that CSS Farms is
hitting the mark in terms of customer deliverables and sustainability practices
•Maintain a thorough understanding of CSS Farms key customers contract volumes and
Sustainability/Regen Ag goals that are connected to our doing business with them
•Demonstrate strong collaboration skills through frequent interaction and partnership with Sales
& Marketing and Data/IT teams
•Develop mastery in capability of using CSS Farms data systems
•Work with finance team to acquire and develop reports that support processes for ensuring
data quality across all entities (Agronomy, Sales, and Data) are consistent and accurate.
•Find ways to automate data quality checks.
•Identify and implement solutions surrounding sustainability data needs that will come with
ongoing mastery of our sustainability practices and ongoing future customer needs
•Be open to eventual evolution of role scope and responsibilities as CSS Farms sustainability data
practices become more streamlined and data project needs internally evolve
Desired Qualifications •Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Agronomy, or related field
•Strong project management skills - ability to successfully facilitate end to end execution of a
project from ideation to final delivery
•Natural inquisitiveness and desire to dig deeper into data and information to derive insights,
ensure accuracy, and create quality output
•Comfortable and willingness in building relationships with critical internal and external
stakeholders in order to gather information, understand new processes, challenge accuracy of
data to deliver exceptional end product
•Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel to maintain and manipulate data, derive insights, audit for
quality and accuracy
•Strong proficiency in other Microsoft and technology programs, with ability and willingness to
quickly learn and master new programs as needed in the role
•Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced
environment.
•Strong customer service skillset, with emphasis on the ability and willingness to anticipate needs
and drive for action and solutions
•Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to present
information in a competent, efficient manner to leadership and external stakeholders
•Ability to comprehend, read, write, and communicate proficiently in English.
•Ability to travel up to 20% of work time, or more as needed dependent on project status and
needs, with additional flexibility in schedule for routine company meetings and events.
