Other Conditions: For placement in lecturer pool beginning Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025. Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funding. May be for courses during the day, evening, and/or via distance learning, as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach lecture and laboratory courses in Introductory Chemistry, General chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.
- Other chemistry courses may be assigned, as needed by the Department of Chemistry.
- Maintain minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field from an accredited college or university (degree fully completed at time of application) or any combination of education/training/experience that equates to this credential for purposes of providing instruction in Chemistry.
- Evidence of satisfactory teaching ability.
Desirable Qualifications
- Demonstrated high-quality teaching in a multicultural setting.
- College-level chemistry teaching experience beyond the teaching assistant level.
- Demonstrated ability to teach lecture and laboratory courses in areas such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, or environmental chemistry.
