Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Landscape Architect to oversee landscaping and project management for our retail locations throughout the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscape architecture, excellent project management skills, and a passion for creating functional and attractive outdoor spaces that reflect our brand and enhance customer experience. The Landscape Architect will be responsible for designing, planning, and managing landscape projects, ensuring they meet our standards and adhere to environmental and regulatory guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Design and Planning: Develop innovative and sustainable landscape designs for our retail locations that enhance customer experience and align with our brand identity. Create detailed plans, drawings, and specifications for landscaping projects.
  • Project Management: Oversee the execution of landscape projects from inception to completion across various retail locations. Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Site Analysis: Conduct site assessments at retail locations to determine soil conditions, drainage, existing vegetation, and other critical factors. Use this information to inform design decisions and ensure project feasibility.
  • Client Communication: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their vision, needs, and preferences. Present design concepts and plans clearly and effectively, incorporating feedback into final designs.
  • Sustainability: Integrate sustainable practices into all landscape designs, including the use of native plants, water conservation techniques, and eco-friendly materials.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning laws, environmental regulations, and building codes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, engineers, urban planners, and other professionals to create cohesive and integrated project plans.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation, including cost estimates, construction details, and maintenance plans.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or related field (if applicable)
  • Certificate(s) or License(s):
  • Years of experience: 5+ years of experience in landscape architecture or related field, with a focus on commercial or retail projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS.
  • Strong understanding of horticulture, plant materials, and sustainable design practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Regular travel to various retail locations across the United States to oversee project implementation and ensure compliance with design specifications.

Occasionally: Walking, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
