Job Description

Natural Habitat Adventures is seeking an individual to join ourFinanceTeam as an Accountant.This position is responsible for processing various accounting transactions and numerous monthly account reconciliations while providing other general accounting support to both the Finance Team and the company at large. The Accountant will produce accurate and timely work, paying attention to detail. The Accountant will also provide support to the entireorganization by responding to questions and requests promptly, accurately, and courteously.

This is a full time, exempt office position based in Louisville, CO with the option to work remotely.At Natural Habitat Adventures, we relishour casual, dog-friendly work environment. Responsibilities
  • Daily and monthly reconciliation of bank and company credit card and merchant statements
  • Monthly entry of corporate credit card transactions
  • Assist with various accounting duties related to subsidiaries and sister companies, as needed
  • Assist with approving vendor payments in a timely manner
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries
  • Perform all assigned compliance tasks and maintain documentation for SOX in a timely manner
  • Assist with various financial accounting tasks and reporting as requested
  • Create sales tax filings, payments and reconciliations
  • Assist the accounts receivable (Guest Accounts) and accounts payable teams as needed and act in a back-up capacity
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts, as assigned (including cash, investments, prepaid expenses, deferred income, etc.)
  • Maintain and keep large spreadsheets current that summarize our product margins, disclose our cash balances, track our employee site inspection allowances, etc.
  • Assist our internal and external auditors as needed
  • Prepare quarterly reporting as assigned
  • Assist with the process of recording fixed assets additions and disposals, processing depreciation, and tracking WIP assets as needed
  • Prioritize our monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines and be available to assist in these processes in a timely manner
  • Create proactive resolutions of issues as they arise and strive for continual improvement in all areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
  • CPA (or candidate seeking CPA license) a plus
  • Exceptional Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets, create pivot tables, create reports, and analyze data in a structured manner
  • Experience with Great Plains and Blackline a plus
  • Technically savvy with strong Microsoft Office skills
  • A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible within a dynamic environment
  • Exceptionally well organized with a keen eye for detail and drive to meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly and comfortable working in a technical environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with different stakeholders (including technical and non-technical people) while balancing stakeholder requests with business objectives
  • Enjoy adapting to new priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to follow directions and utilize constructive feedback to continually grow and improve as a professional
  • Ability to effectively collect and analyze data to assess the success of an ongoing or completed projects
Compensation
Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000 USD, plus annual bonus. Compensationcommensuratewith experience. This position comes with generous PTO and paid holidays.Benefits includesiteinspection on Nat Hab trips,discountson outdoor clothing and an onsite fitness facility and Cafe.Eligibility for medical insurance, participation in 401(k) with company match, parental leave and sabbatical are available after a predetermined period.

Working Hours

Our company office hours are currently Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm MT. Our office is also open on Saturdays from 8am-3pm for certain members of our guest facing teams. Additional hours may be necessary as you see fit to accomplish your goals.

Travel

For local candidates (within a one-hour drive of the Louisville office), this position requires attendance in the office at least two days per week.

For remote candidates, you will need to travel to Colorado at least twice a year for in-person meetings, company events, and job-specific tasks. Our company holds two all-staff weeks annually, one in the spring (April) and one in Winter (early December).
